Introduction
GDF8 is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic processing site which is cleaved to produce a mature protein containing seven conserved cysteine residues. The members of this family are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and ***** tissues. This gene is thought to encode a secreted protein which negatively regulates skeletal muscle growth.

Purification Method
Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on protein G.
Formulation
Lyophilized from 1mg/ml solution in 0.2µm sterile filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.
Solubility
Reconstitute with H20. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use.
Stability
Store at 4°C. For long term storage freezes in working aliquots at -20°C.
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended.
Purity
Greater than 98.0% as determined by Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Applications
To detect Human Myostatin by WB analysis this IgG can be used in a dilution of 1/500.
To optimal usage we suggest overnight incubation.
