Introduction
The rubella virus (RV) structural proteins capsid, E2, and E1 are synthesized as a polyprotein precursor. The signal peptide that initiates translocations of E2 into the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum remains attached to the carboxy terminus of the capsid protein after cleavage by signal peptidase.
Description
The E.Coli derived recombinant protein contains the Rubella Virus E2 regions, 31-105 amino acids.
Purification Method
Rubella protein was purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.
Purity
Rubella protein is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE (coomassie staining).
Formulation
20mM imidazol, 8M urea and 0.3M NaCl.
Stability
Rubella protein although stable at 4°C for 1 week, should be stored below -18°C.
Please prevent freeze thaw cycles.
Specificity
Immunoreactive with sera of Rubella Virus infected individuals.
Applications
Rubella antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of Rubella Virus with minimal specificity problems.
