Introduction
Interleukin-1 alpha is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by a wide variety of cell types, including macrophages, osteoblasts, monocytes and hepatocytes. Circulating levels of are normally low and only rise after stimulation by agents such as those produced byinflammation, infection or microbial endotoxins. IL-1 alpha possesses a wide variety of biological activities and exerts its effects by binding to specific cell surface receptors.
Description
IL 1 alpha Mouse Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 179 amino acids (115-270 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 20.4kDa.
IL 1 alpha is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Sterile Filtered colorless solution.
Formulation
IL 1 alpha protein solution (1mg/ml) containing Phosphate buffered saline (pH7.4) and 10% glycerol.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
