Introduction
CBX1 is an enriched heterochromatin which belongs to the heterochromatin protein family. The centromeres related CBX1 identifies and binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9', causing epigenetic repression. Collaboration with lamin B receptor (LBR) can impact the relations between the heterochromatin and the inner nuclear membrane. CBX1 has a vital part in the epigenetic control of chromatin structure and gene expression.
Description
CBX1 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 205 amino acids (1-185) and having a molecular mass of 23.6kDa (molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will appear higher).
The CBX1 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation
CBX1 protein 1mg/ml is supplied in 20mM Tris-HCl, pH-8, 0.1M NaCl, 2mM DTT and
20% Glycerol.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 85.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
