Introduction
S100B faintly binds calcium but binds zinc extremely strongly-distinct s with different affinities exist for both ions on each monomer. Physiological concentrations of potassium ion antagonize the binding of both divalent cations, especially affecting high-affinity calcium-s. S100B binds to and initiates the activation of STK38 by releasing autoinhibitory intramolecular interactions within the kinase. Interaction with AGER after myocardial infarction participates in myocyte apoptosis by activating ERK1/2 and p53/TP53 signaling.
Description
S100B Mouse Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 92 amino acids (1-112 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 12.8 kDa. The Mouse S100B is fused to a 20 amino acid His-Tag at N-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 85.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
