Introduction
S100 calcium binding protein A5 (S100A5) belongs to the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 family members are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and are involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100A5 has a Ca2+ affinity 20-100 fold higher than the other S100 proteins investigated under identical conditions. Furthermore, S100A5 protein binds Zn2+ and Cu2+, and Cu2+ strongly which harms the binding of Ca2+. S100A5 is expressed in very limited regions of the ***** brain.
Description
S100A5 Human Recombinant fused with a 20 amino acid His tag at N-terminus produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 112 amino acids (1-92 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 12.9kDa. The S100A5 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation
The S100A5 solution (1mg/1ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 1mM DTT, 30% glycerol, 0.1M NaCl and 0.1mM PMSF.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Purity
Greater than 90.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
