Description

Among all viral vectors, recombinant Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) is the most promising candidate for gene therapy owing to its non-integrating nature and lack of pathogenicity animal models. Other key attributes making AAV a very attractive tool in regenerative medicine are its broad tropism and the ability to transduce both proliferating and quiescent cells. Differential transduction and tissue distribution of AAV can be achieved through the use of different AAV serotype capsids. We now also offer custom AAV siRNA vectors and viruses.

Advantages of AAV:

Do not elicit significant immune responses in vivo
Broad tropism - tissue specificity with different AAV serotypes
No integration into the host genome
Ability to transduce both proliferating and quiescent cells
Long-term expression in non-dividing cells
