(S)-(+) Ascochin has antifungal, antibacterial and phytotoxic properties.Ascochin showed activity against the gram-positive bacterium Bacillums megasterium, the fungus Microbotryum violaceum, and the alga Chlorella fusca in the agar diffusion test at a concentration of 0.5mg/filter(Krohn et al. 2007b)
