    内皮细胞有很多生理功能,而且是许多病理进程的中心。肝脏包括两种内皮细胞:血管内皮细胞和肝窦内皮细胞。肝窦内皮细胞是微血管内皮细胞有独特的表型如同树突和如同CD4+T细胞的独特的抗原呈递细胞的功能。因此SEC表现为一种新的组织存在形式,非专业的抗原呈递细胞,其表现出与控制肝脏局部的免疫应答和免疫感应耐受性有关[1]。肝的微环境包括门静脉成分和血窦细胞增殖而来的可溶性介质,通过SEC严格控制抗原呈递来避免由免疫介导的损伤。SEC表达不同于大血管内皮细胞的特异性表面受体、有不同的形态和代谢[3]。研究表明SEC能够动态调节细胞表面裂孔隙度,在肝脏再生时对局部环境的区域性刺激能够快速的反应[2]。SEC功能紊乱和结构改变对整个肝脏有深远的影响。
    Sciencell研究实验室的脐静脉内皮细胞是从人肝脏分离得到的,原代冻存,冰冻运输。每管细胞密度*过5×10^6/ml。细胞特性经白蛋白、cytokeratin-18 and vimentin免疫荧光鉴定。本细胞经检测不含HIV-1、HBV、HCV、支原体、细菌、酵母菌和真菌。HH不能扩大培养或者产期培养,因为它不能增殖。
