Description
The ViPrimePLUS Novel Coronavirus hCOV-EMC / MERS RT-qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of novel coronavirus (hCoV-EMC / MERS) genome in clinical samples (e.g. throat swab, nasopharyngeal aspirates and stool).
Coronavirus family represents a large collection of viruses. These single-stranded RNA viruses are divided into groups and subgroups based on their genome sequence. Recently, a novel human coronavirus 2012 has emerged in the Middle East region. This new coronavirus is a beta-coronavirus with genetic sequence similar to bat coronaviruses.
