Description
The ViPrimePLUS Fungi qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of Fungi genomes in food, human, animal, plant and environmental samples.
Fungi refer to a broad range of organisms, consisting of yeast, molds and mushroom. They are eukaryotic organisms with rigid cell walls. The organism is ubiquitous in every niche in the environment and human are constantly exposed to them. Some of the pathogenic fungi produce bioactive compounds known as mycotoxins such as alkaloids and polyketides that are toxic to animals including humans. They bring about major economic losses due to the destruction of crops, food spoilage and various diseases in animals and humans. However, some fungi are beneficial to humans as they can be used directly as food source or contribute in the production of food, beverages, detergent, pesticides and antibiotics industries.
