Description
The ViPrimePLUS Mycoplasma mycoides cluster qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of Mycoplasma mycoides cluster genome in ruminant’s blood and bodily fluid samples.
Myroplasma mycoides cluster comprises the 6 closely related ruminant pathogens, which are the Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. Mycoides Small Colony (MmSC), Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. Mycoides Large Colony (MmLC), Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae (Mcp), Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capricolum (Mcc), Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri (Mmc), and Mycoplasma bovine group 7 (MBG7). Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides is the causative agent for the contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) disease, while the Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae is responsible for the contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) disease. Cattle with CBPP will suffer from respiratory distress, cessation of rumination, anorexia and severe pleuritic pain. Goats with CCPP will develop respiratory disease, mastitis and arthritis with fever. The disease is transmitted through inhalation of infected respiratory droplets.
