Description
The ViPrimePLUS Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus RT-qPCR Kit is a Taqman probe-based real-time PCR assay for the detection of Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus genome in blood, tracheal swab and tissue sample.
Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) is a single stranded RNA which belongs to group 3 coronavirus. It mainly causes respiratory disease in chickens, while some nephropathogenic IBV strains colonize the kidney causing nephritis. The disease stress has significantly decreased the meat and eggs production and quality, such as eggs with soft shell and watery albumen. Besides, the disease is highly contagious, leading to the morbidity rate of 100% in unvaccinated population. Both live attenuated and inactivated vaccines are available, but with poor cross-protection. Due to the continual emergence of antigenic variants, vaccination is only partially successful. Although many countries share some common antigenic types, IBV strains within a geographic region are unique and distinct. Therefore, early detection is necessary to avoid major economic losses.
